Filing taxes is a pain in the butt, but perhaps we shouldn't complain. With a flashback to 1991, the folks over at Mental Floss remind us how things could be worse -- we could still be using MS-DOS.

Not only is yesteryear's tax software hard to look at, it also used to be a lot more expensive.  In 1991, these software packages ranged in price from $70-100, whereas today's more advanced apps start at around $30.  Three cheers for the free market!
