You Know Those Handshakes After Sports Games? This Water Polo Player Wasn't Having Any of It

Winners and losers slapping hands in a line saying "good game" before departing with fists pumping in victory or heads hung in defeat is a tradition for nearly ever grade school and high school sports team. But this close contact proved to be too much of a temptation for the loser on a Florida water polo team that had just lost the title for the state championship.

The Miami Herald reported that St. Thomas Aquinas' water polo team defeated Belen Jesuit 13-10 in late April, leading the high school to its first state title. Unfortunately, the match didn't end amicably.

A Belen Jesuit player appears to give a St. Thomas Aquinas player a little push that sends him off balance into the pool.

The action spurred a brief scuffle between the two teams, which was quickly broken up.

The Belen players apologized after the award ceremony, in which both teams received medals, the Herald reported.

Since being posted online last week, the video showing the poor sportsmanship has received more than 2.6 million views. Be sure to watch closely to see the nudge happen at 0:05:
