Rand Paul: Gee, this immigration bill looks a lot like Obamacare

WASHINGTON, DC - MARCH 19: U.S. Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) talks with reporters as Senate Republicans and Democrats head to their weekly policy luncheon on March 19, 2013 in Washington, DC. The Senate is expected to pass a revised continuing resolution and send their edits back to the House in order to prevent a government shutdown next week, but any action in the Senate may be delayed until later in the week. Stacking bureaucracy on top of bureaucracy won't seal our border or fix our immigration problems, Sen. Rand Paul said Tuesday before the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs.

"To me, it's a little bit like Obamacare," the Kentucky senator added. "And I hate to bring that up, but 1,800 references to the secretary shall at a later date decide things. We don't write bills around here. We should write the bill. We should write the plan. We should do these things to secure the border whether it be fence, entry, exit, we should write it, not delegate it."
