The Incredible Role Facebook Played in the Aftermath of Devastating Okla. Tornado

"I couldn't imagine losing my kids' pictures."

Nearly 10,000 members have joined a Facebook group established to help Oklahoma tornado victims from both Sunday and Monday's storms find items that might have flow into someone else's yard, which could very well be several city's away.

The group was started by Leslie Hagelberg of West Tulsa, Okla., who got the idea when she found a family photograph near her mailbox.

"I'm just trying to help," Hagelberg told The Huffington Post. "I couldn't imagine losing my kids' pictures."

On the group page, Hagelberg asked that no one post sensitive information like checks, social security numbers, etc.

Family photos, drawings by children, documents, pets and more have been put up on the site. Here are a few photos from the page to give you a small idea of what people are finding and looking for:

In addition to finding personal items and pets, some people with friends and family in the affected areas are posting on the Facebook wall as well wondering if anyone knows their status.

It is also being used by people offering their availability to help with various needs in the area and to inform community members of where they can find help, like a local apartment building offering its vacant units to those who need a place to stay.
