After several news outlets turned down invitations to off-the-record meetings with Attorney General Eric Holder to discuss the DOJ snooping scandal, the spokesman of the national Democratic Party actually turned the blame on them:
POTUS asked AG to review how leak investigations are done but some in the media refuse to meet with him. Kind of forfeits your right gripe.

The twittersphere predictably took offense:
@woodhouseb So you forfeit your right to complain about the AG spying on you if you refuse to meet with him secretly? That's America now?

.@woodhouseb wow it's hard to believe americans are cynical about politics with people like you around

"Obviously Nixon wants to fix the problems in the White House. Woodward & Bernstein? Not helping." @woodhouseb @ron_fournier #ObamaScandals

FYI: In DC "off the record" means "in secret." Team Obama want media to promise secrecy to AG who spied on them. #IronyAlert

Politico's Dylan Byers was left in disbelief (although it's not enough to stop his bosses from agreeing on Holder's terms):
@woodhouseb Jesus, Brad.
