A record-breaking EF5 tornado tore through El Reno, Oklahoma, Friday, killing 18 people, among them three storm chasers.

A YouTube user posted a video that compiles the positions of all the storm chasers in the area at the time (represented by the blue triangles) as they drove around and away from the 2.6-mile wide twister (represented by the white blob, which was sized and tracked according to data from the National Weather Service).

As Patrick George for Jalopnik pointed out, "it's strange to see it from this graphic."

"It looks almost innocuous, not unlike an early 1980s video game. But in reality it was a devastating and rare meteorological event, and one that must have been terrifying to witness," George continued writing.

It is unclear which chaser was the Twistex team killed in the tornado based on the map.

The same YouTube user, Whacky Rat who is a fellow storm chaser, posted a tribute video to Tim Samaras, his son Paul, and colleague Carl Young, which he wrote shows the "unity of the chaser community and the impact these individuals had on all of us."
