"Taxpayers deserve the biggest bang for their buck, especially at a time when budgets are tight," President Barack Obama announced Monday in a new call for reforms to make the federal government “smarter, quicker and more responsive to the needs of the American people.” With this in mind, the White House launched its own social media campaign on Twitter -- #SmarterGov -- challenging supporters to try and use Obama and smarter government in the same tweet. Needless to say, things did not go well.
It didn't take long for conservatives to hijack the #SmarterGov hashtag, including Fox Business host John Stossel who addressed his comments directly to the president:
Excuse me @BarackObama, #LESSGov is #SmarterGov.
