Beachgoers in California were astonished on Friday morning after a small plane attempted to make an emergency landing on a beach and then flipped over.
The pilot of the plane, which was towing an advertising banner, was the only passenger aboard the small aircraft and escaped the incident with only minor injuries.

According to the KTLA, the plane landed in shallow waters near a luxury golf course owned by real estate tycoon Donald Trump.
Both the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board were investigating the crash, according to an email from an FAA spokesman obtained by KTLA.
