Biker Accused of Participating in Rage-Fueled Attack on SUV Driver Had a Message for Reporters in Court That Didn't Even Require Words

The motorcyclist charged with assault in connection to last week's biker-mob chase and attack had a message for reporters Sunday — "F--- you."

Reginald Chance, 37, prominently displayed both of his middle fingers to photographers in court Sunday where he faced charges of assault and gang assault.

Chance was seen in a viral video that captured him smashing a black Range Rover's windows open with his helmet, following a chase through Manhattan that was ignited after the driver of the SUV ran over several bikers he said for fear of his safety.

His lawyer said he does not deny the allegations he was caught on video engaging in the acts, according to the New York Post.

The driver, 33-year-old Alexian Lien, eventually got caught in traffic and was then pulled out of his car and beaten in front of his wife and child. As reported by TheBlaze, a man on his way to church stopped and protected Lien and his family from being beaten more. Multiple off-duty police officers among the bikers, however, reportedly did nothing to stop the violence.

Police have charged another biker, 28-year-old Christopher Cruz, with menacing, reckless endangerment, reckless driving and endangering the welfare of a child for allegedly instigating the incident by swerving in front of Lien's SUV and suddenly braking causing the initial accident.

But Cruz is adamantly denying allegations that he intended to cause an accident and says the accusations have ruined his life.

"It's turned my life upside down right now," he told ABC's "Good Morning America" on Monday. "I had no intentions to slow him down or to cause any type of problem."

"I didn't think I was doing anything wrong by cutting into another lane," he added.

A third biker is now being sought out by the NYPD.

Edwin Mieses, one of bikers struck by Lien's SUV during the episode, suffered significant injuries and is now paralyzed in a coma.

While police are not charging Lien, Mieses' wife says he needs to be punished for what he did.

“This man needs to know he hurt someone,” she said. “That man paralyzed my husband. He needs to pay for what he did.”

An individual claiming to be related to Mieses has created a Facebook page entitled “Justice for Jay Meezee” and alleges Lien is guilty of “obvious attempted manslaughter.”
