Glenn Beck Tears Into Jeb Bush: 'Enough With the Royal Families

Glenn Beck tore into former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush on the radio Monday, after Bush criticized Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, his fellow Republican, for lacking "self-restraint" in how he attempted to derail Obamacare.

Bush told ABC News in an interview aired Sunday, "it was a mistake to focus on something that couldn't be achieved."

“I think the best way to repeal Obamacare is to have an alternative; we never hear the alternative," the brother of former President George W. Bush and son of George H.W. Bush added. "We could do this in a much lower cost with improved quality based on our principles, free market principles … and two, show how Obamacare, flawed to its core, doesn’t work."

An incensed Beck declared that if the GOP hadn't been "shooting at Ted Cruz," they could have been showing the world "how bad" Obamacare is.

"Now, why didn't you do that?" Beck asked. "If you wanted to show how bad it is, why wouldn't you do it? Because you want the framework. You want the control. You've just announced that ... where you said, 'We can do it better. We just have to reform it.' You want control."

Beck, who has been pushing the hashtag "#DefundTheGOP," added that "this is the crown jewel in speeches ... that shows you the progressives in the Republican Party."

"May I just point out: stop listening to the Bushes," he said, before asking listeners what the following list has in common: "No new taxes, TSA, Department of Homeland Security, Patriot Act, open borders, [Ramos and Compean]. John Roberts, who in turn gave us Obamacare. Never-ending wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Ethanol mandates. Eco-friendly fluorescent light bulbs. Common Core, No Child Left Behind ... TARP, save the free market by destroying the free market ... Colin Powell and the reduction of our nuclear weapons. Karl Rove. Norquist ... oh, I forgot one -- world order."

Beck said that if the issues were presented in the way he just did, "you would never vote for these things."

"Enough with the royal families," Beck concluded. "Why do you have royal families? You have royal families because everybody knows they can trust them ... because I know your dad, I know what you are going to do and you are not going off the beaten path because everybody in the family is in on this ... We're just going to have you as a lord and lady. Why don't we just start calling them Lord Jeb? And Lady Bush? The Duchess of Houston! Why don't we call them that? The Kennedys and the Bushes. Enough with them."

"And the Clintons," Beck's co-host Stu Burguiere chimed in.
