Washington, D.C.-- Conservative author Ann Coulter recently called Chris Matthews "the stupidest on-air personality at MSNBC." She picked up on that idea while speaking at the right-leaning Heritage Foundation think tank on Wednesday.
"The one who's giving him a run for his money is the daytime guy-- is it Thomas Roberts or Roberts Thomas?" Coulter said, referring to Thomas Roberts, who is an openly gay MSNBC news anchor. "The stupidest straight person was a man from the 16th Century found in outer-Mongolia. The skeleton was recently unearthed. And the stupidest gay person: Thomas Roberts."
She continued: "Which is weird because gays are usually smarter and more articulate. They find the one idiot gay? Seriously, he's retarded." Coulter told the audience, "Follow my advice: Watch -- what is it again? Roberts Thomas or Thomas Roberts."
Roberts recently announced that he will co-host the Miss Universe pageant in non-gay-friendly Moscow next month.
Though Coulter didn't specify what makes Roberts "the stupidest gay person," he has had a few memorable moments. Most recently, he asked a Republican lawmaker at the height of the 16-day government shutdown if "you hate Obamacare more than you love your country."
