Piers Morgan: 'I don't want to grab anyone's guns

In an interview with Forbes, Piers Morgan says the anti-gun crusade he's lead for more than a year using his CNN program as a platform isn't about telling Americans "how to lead their lives."

"I don’t want to ‘grab’ anyone’s guns, or tell Americans how to lead their lives," he said. "I do, however, want to try and stop the endless, senseless slaughter of Americans through gun violence. No civilian (and I speak as someone whose brother is a British army colonel) needs military-style assault rifles, nor magazines that can hold 100 bullets."

Morgan continued: "And there is no sane, logical reason why there should not be mandatory universal background checks on ALL gun sales. I have confidence that common sense will prevail in the end. Far from being ‘anti-American’ as some like to claim, I actually like Americans so much I want more of you to stay alive."
