The controversy over the NFL Redskins has led a number of journalists and publications to either call for a name change or all out ban the name from their work. Pew Research puts the number of journalists and publications who support a name change at almost 80, including seven writers who work for ESPN.
Redskins owner Dan Snyder has recently shown some openness to the idea of a name change, after writing in USA Today that he wasn't. He met with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on Tuesday to discuss the name.
