'He Was Just Going Crazy': Man Goes on Bizarre ‘Zombie’ Rampage During Rush Hour

"I thought, 'oh s**t, it's the zombie apocalypse.'"

An Australian man brought traffic to a standstill Monday night after he crashed his vehicle on the freeway and started running directly into oncoming traffic while jumping on and head-butting cars.

"It was like the movie 'World War Z,' where the zombies just run into cars, he was exactly like that and I thought, 'oh s**t, it's the zombie apocalypse,'" a motorist identified only as Jordan told Australia's WA Today.

The bizarre incident was captured on video and subsequently uploaded to YouTube.

"He was just running into cars, jumping on top of cars, he was obviously trying to hurt himself," the witness said. "I kept driving and I went past about four cars that had pulled over ... he was just going crazy."

Another witness described what he saw to a local radio station as it happened.

"He then proceeded to jump from car to car, and everyone's come to a hold and the car alongside us, he's jumped on the roof of that trying to rip off windscreen wipers and hitting windows and all sorts," the caller, identified as Shaun, said, according to WA Today. "He's come over to my car, he's kicked the side of my car in, hitting and punching windows and the cars were travelling at 60km/h and he's jumping in front of them."

WA Today reported authorities believe the man has mental health issues and are investigating to see if alcohol played any role in the incident.
