WASHINGTON -- MSNBC "Morning Joe" host Joe Scarborough confessed Wednesday that his mom is a huge Glenn Beck fan.

"Every time I say something bad about Glenn Beck my mom sends me the ugliest email," he said at an event hosted by Politico to promote his new book, "The Right Path: From Ike to Reagan, How Republicans Once Mastered Politics--and Can Again."
Scarborough's comment came after he said the Republican Party is at a point where it will have to choose between going the way of former President Ronald Reagan or going the way of Glenn Beck.
"I can't believe the emails she sends. And your Aunt Carolyn," said Mika Brzezinski, Scarborough's co-host.
"Oh, it's terrible," Scarborough continued. "It's like they disinvite me to Thanksgiving dinner. My mom obviously subscribes to Glenn's TV program."
Scarborough and Beck have not always agreed in the past.
Last December, however, Scarborough said he's not actually that far from Beck ideologically.
"Even though he drives me crazy, I criticize him all the time because of the crazy nutty things he says, I think ideologically, and please don’t tell anybody, I may be closest to Glenn Beck," he said in a radio interview.
