This Isn't Your Average Smash-And-Grab – This One Took Under a Minute, Netted $70K in Stolen Guns and Has the Feds Involved

"It's just unbelievable."

Thieves robbed a gun store in Newnan, Ga., over the weekend and made off with roughly $70,000 worth of rifles. And they did it in a brazen way.

The store's surveillance camera shows that at least three people were involved in Sunday’s burglary.

The three suspects pulled off the heist by backing a car into The AR Bunker’s store front, smashing through through window, hopping the counters and loading up the car with the stolen goods.

The burglary, which took place a little before 5:00 a.m., took less than a minute to carry out.

Local law enforcement officials arrived on the scene moments later, but not before the suspects made their getaway.

The three suspects later ditched their car, with some of the stolen rifles still in it, and fled on foot through a nearby forest, WGCL-TV reported.

The thieves caused at least $15,000 worth of damage to inventory and said that it would be another $15,000 for rebuilding costs, the report added.

"It's just unbelievable. We moved from Fayetteville about 10 years ago because of the attempted break-ins that we'd had up there," Store owner Rusty Morris told WGCL-TV.

He noted that a group of suspicious men visited his store last week, walking and looking around but not actually buying anything.

“They stayed in the store and walked around. And despite us asking, they wanted no help and left without asking any questions,” the store owner said. “We have them on video and we're going to make a copy of them for the sheriff's department and the [Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives] so they can combine with some of their other leads."

Morris and his staff spend their working hours Sunday cleaning up the store and going over inventory.
