TheBlaze TV’s Dana Loesch will be guest hosting ABC’s “The View” on Monday — that is, if the anti-gun group Moms Demand Action doesn't get its way. Additionally, the far-left Media Matters has also come out of the woodwork to pressure on ABC on its “troubling” decision to give Loesch a national platform (which she already has at TheBlaze).
Shannon Watts, the founder of Moms Demand Action, launched her own Twitter campaign on Saturday in protest of Loesch’s upcoming gig on “The View.”
In addition to re-tweeting messaging calling Loesch a “pro-gun extremist,” “hate monger,” and “gun bully,” Watts also repeatedly messaged the official Twitter account of “The View” to express her disappointment in the show for giving someone a platform who she happens to disagree with.
Watts also claimed that Loesch is a paid “shill” of firearms manufacturer Magpul. The only problem with the claim is that it’s not true.
We asked Loesch about the allegation and she couldn’t help but laugh, saying “those checks much be getting lost in the mail.” The conservative personality did attend the “Farewell to Arms” rally held by Magpul back in July, but she certainly wasn’t a paid spokesperson. She said she attended the event with Real Clear Politics and received no money from the gun company.
And there were plenty more tweets attacking ABC for daring to allow Loesch to speak on their network.
The effort is seen by Loesch and her supporters as yet another attempt by the anti-gun crowd to shut down anyone they disagree with.
“Why would Shannon have a problem with another mom standing up for responsible gun ownership and promoting gun safety? She wants to stop education on firearms and gun safety, which is antithetical to what she claims she wants,” Loesch said.
Loesch also revealed that she has invited Watts to appear on her TV show to debate their differences on guns, but she has so far refused to come on the show.
The hashtag #IStandWithDana was trending nationally on Saturday night as the conservative personality’s supporters came out in full force to defend her right to free speech.
As many intelligent people have argued before: True free speech always allows more voices, never less.

Awesome to see so many responsible, law-abiding 2A supporters speaking out. Thank you! --> #IStandWithDana— Dana Loesch (@DLoesch) February 2, 2014
UPDATE: Moms Demand Action founder Shannon Watts is directing people to the official Facebook page of "The View," asking them to let the show know how they "feel" about Loesch as a guest host. It's clear at this point Watts is attempting to put pressure on ABC over Loesch's Monday appearance.
