Fox News's Megyn Kelly, Brit Hume skeptical of controversial Arizona bill

Both Fox News's Megyn Kelly and Brit Hume have expressed skepticism about a controversial bill in Arizona that proponents say would protect religious freedoms of business owners.

"I look at this bill and I wonder whether this is a reaction, an overreaction," Kelly said on "The Kelly File" Tuesday, "[by religious] people who feel under attack on this score, and in the end, they may have struck back in a way that's deeply offensive to many and potentially dangerous to folks who are gay and lesbians and need medical services and other services being denied potentially."

"That's right," Hume replied.

The bill, which CNN reports is expected to be vetoed by Gov. Jan Brewer (R), is intended to allow business owners to deny services to customers on religious grounds. An often cited example is a Christian cake baker who doesn't support gay marriage turning away the business of a same-sex couple planning a wedding. Critics say the bill would simply allow discrimination.

Former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has said the bill should be vetoed.
