A wild police chase through the Denver metro area was captured on camera Wednesday morning — and it shows the moments the suspect abandoned a stolen vehicle with a 4-year-old child inside and carjacked another.
The scene unfolded after a blonde man — adorned with a yellow and black jacket — stole a red van at a gas station with a 4-year-old child inside around 7:15 a.m., according to KMGH-TV. Investigators later identified the suspect as Ryan Stone.
After being pursued by police, the suspect used the red minivan to block the road. Footage then shows him force the driver of a gold van out of his car, as a woman in the passenger seat fled the vehicle.

The suspect then drove the vehicle onto a highway and headed into oncoming traffic, successfully avoiding spike strips laid down by police.
According to KMGH-TV's chopper, the vehicle was going at approximately 117 mph — so fast that the helicopter had trouble keeping up with the chase.
Stone then hit a Colorado State Patrol trooper as he attempted to deploy yet another round of stop sticks.
"After he throws the (stop) sticks, the suspect veered his direction. The trooper ran out of the way, attempted to get out of the way by jumping the guard rail and subsequently was hit and kind of pinned under the guard rail by the vehicle. He has been transported from the scene to Littleton Hospital. He is expected to be OK," trooper Nate Reid told KMGH-TV.
Stone then hit one more vehicle with the gold van before carjacking yet another individual, stealing the individual's silver BMW.
The suspect drove for less than a mile before he attempted to flee police on foot. Officers were then able to quickly arrest him.
According to authorities, Stone "does have a warrant for his arrest" and "is facing numerous charges out of Longmont for our incident and all the incidents along the way."
Police added that he has an extensive criminal record that includes multiple serious offenses, such as theft and drug charges, according to KMGH-TV.
The chase lasted over an hour and Stone is now being inspected at a hospital.
The boy who was in the red van was checked out by medical personnel and later reunited with his parents.
