One Golfer Provided Two of the Most Embarrassing Shots at The Player's Championship…in a Row

"Oh no! Aw, come on!"

Germany's Martin Kaymer won the Player's Championship on Sunday and took home $1.8 million for his 13-under par winning total, but most golf fans will be watching "highlights" showing a couple of shots from Robert H. Lee, the golfer who finished tied for 65th place.

Playing in the final round of a professional golf tournament on one of the game's toughest courses can put considerable pressure on a player. Moreover, the pressure can be multiplied when you are attempting a very difficult shot on the iconic island green of the TPC Sawgrass golf course.

As he approached his ball on the famous island green on the 17th hole, Lee was at even par and in good shape to finish in the top 50 for the weekend. For the first time in his four year pro career, the 27-year-old made the cut at the weekend tournament. But that was all before he muffed not one, but two shots, on the par-3 hole.

Lee attempted his first shot using a pitching wedge. His ball's close proximity to the longer grass on the fringe of the putting surface appeared to frustrate his effort and he muffed it, moving the ball just a few inches forward.

After staring at the terrible result of his bungled chip, Lee grabbed his putter and tried, once again, to put the ball on the green and near the cup.

The result of Lee's next shot, using his putter, was nearly identical to the first one. Nick Faldo, NBC's golf analyst and three-time winner of the Masters was stunned by the back-to-back screw ups, exclaiming, "Oh no! Aw, come on!" after Lee's second shot.

Lee finished the 17th hole with a double-bogie five, and also bogied the final hole to finish the tournament at 3-over par leading to his 65th-place finish.
