A 16-year-old high school student shoved an elderly substitute teacher to the ground after she confiscated his cell phone.

He's since been arrested and charged with injury to the elderly, local media reported.

The incident took place at Nimitz High School in Houston, Texas, and was recorded by multiple students, leading to the 16-year-old's arrest.

The attack prompted more than a few responses on social media.

"This is a big kid who knows right from wrong," Nimitz parent Delon Sa La told local media, calling on parents to provide better support and discipline. "It's always 'not my kid, not my kid,' but it is your kid."

Defenders of Nimitz High School were few and far between Sunday.

The 66-year-old substitute teacher, who is technically retired, was treated at the hospital and has been released, KHOU-TV reported.

Note: an earlier version of this story incorrectly identified the Nimitz High School in question as being in Irving, Texas, rather than Houston.
