Exclusive First Look at 'The Identical' — a Film About Twins Separated at Birth, Yet United in Their Incredible Love for Music

"One of the boys becomes the most famous rock ‘n' roll legend in the world..."

Intense economic strife led to their separation at birth, but Drexel Hemsley and Ryan Wade, identical twins, end up living parallel lives, despite their starkly different circumstances. Their parents, struggling in the throes of the Great Depression, couldn't afford to raise two children, so they gave Wade up when he was an infant to a caring pastor and his wife, setting the boys on two entirely separate journeys.

That's the basis of "The Identical," a new movie coming to theaters nationwide September 5 that is being described as "a timeless tale of love, hope, and redemption." Set in the decades following America's gravest financial meltdown, the movie follows how the twins — both played by Blake Rayne — experience and live out their love for music, but in very different ways.

"One of the boys becomes the most famous rock ‘n' roll legend in the world, Drexel Hemsley, while Ryan Wade struggles to find balance between his love for music and trying to please his evangelist father (Ray Liotta) and his devoted mother (Ashley Judd) who have very different plans for his life in the ministry," explains an official description.

Wade ends up following his professional music dreams as well, though the journey isn't quite rooted in the "calling" his adoptive father believes God has for his life. TheBlaze has an exclusive first-look, which you can watch below:
