Video: Daughter Records Lightning Nearly Striking Her Mom

"It sounded like somebody shot a gun right here...and my phone just flew out of my hand."

An Idaho mom says her body was tingling for hours after a bolt of lightning stuck so close to her that it caused her cell phone to fly out of her hands and into the air -- and her daughter caught the whole thing on her cell phone.

C.C. Weske was visting her mom, Stephanie Rey, in Hayden, Idaho, when a violent thunderstorm rolled into the area. Weske, an admitted fan of intense storms, went outside to capture some video of the lightning. Mom noticed her daughter setting up in the street and decided to join her.

The storm grew more intense and both mother and daughter were taking pictures and video.

Weske was set up at ground level, using the social media application Snapchat when she captured the moment that has both women feeling very lucky to be alive. Watch what she captured below when KHQ News reporter Liz Burch spoke with mother and daughter about the frightening incident:
