Democrat's New Campaign Ad Featuring 'Naked' Voters

It invovles a skinny dipping incident.

With less than 40 days until the midterm elections, we expect TV and radio to be inundated with campaign ads. Some of these pitches will highlight the most outrageous claims about a candidate's opponent, while others try to embarrass their opponent .

This ad, titled "Naked Truth," attempts to do both to Rep. Kevin Yoder from Kansas' 3rd Congressional district.

The ad is from from Kansas congressional hopeful Kelly Kultala. Kultala is a Democrat trying to unseat the two-term incumbent Yoder, a Republican in a reliably "red" state.

In the spot, a blue-suited Kultala is shown standing by a swimming pool. A series of allegedly naked voters are seen reciting a litany of claims about Kultala's opponent.

The "skinny dipping" in the commercial is an attempt to remind voters of Yoder's 2011 late night naked swim in the Sea of Galilee. The freshman congressman apologized for the embarrassing incident after it was exposed a year later.

Will this kind of ad hurt Yoder? History appears to say that it will not. The congressman was elected in 2010 with 58% of the votes cast. The incident occurred in 2011 and was exposed just before the 2012 election. Yoder coasted to re-election, winning with almost 70% of the vote.
