Eighty-year-old Harry Sander was imbibing at a Florida bar on Sunday when he overheard a fellow patron using language Sander didn't appreciate.
So Sander stood up, approached 26-year-old Mikie Sawyer, and asked him to stop using the word "f***" and talking loudly about "titties and ass."
According to a police report, the younger man responded that he didn't have to.
Sander then "leaned into Sawyer and told him in his Germany you don't speak in such a manner," the police report stated.
“I don’t care where you are from, whether it be Russia or Dutch," Sawyer replied, according to one witness, "take your ass to the other side of the bar."
With that, another witness told police, Sawyer pushed the 80-year-old into a table at the Applebees in Port Orange, and finished him off with a punch to the face.
Sander, who landed on the floor, told police he "does not remember much after that moment.” A server told police that he believes Sander punched Sawyer as well.

The younger man, who exited the premises after the altercation, apparently had plenty of fight left in him.
The restaurant manager followed Sawyer into the parking lot and told him to wait, as police had been called. But Sawyer refused, yelling obscenities at the manager, according to police. After the manager indicated he would note Sawyer's license plate number, Sawyer turned around and allegedly charged the manager in a “threatening manner” and declared he “would kick (the manager’s) ass too," the police report said.
Sawyer was later arrested in a traffic stop and charged with battery of a person over the age of 65, a felony, and disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor, police said. Sawyer told police that after he pushed Sander, the 80-year-old punched Sawyer in the face. Sawyer was jailed and then released after posting a $2,500 bond, WFTV-TV reported.
Police stated that Sander's left eye was red and his left cheek was "discolored and bruised." He was treated at the scene by emergency medical services, police reported.
