Pregnant Woman Reportedly Dies After Horrific Attack — but Her Family Says Doctors Performed a 'Miracle\

"God has plans for all of us and Paola is now in the kingdom of heaven with our Heavenly Father."

A pregnant woman passed away in New Castle, Delaware, on October 29 after a man reported to be her boyfriend allegedly brutally beat her with a baseball bat days earlier.

But before Paola Delgado-Polanco died, doctors were able to save her unborn child who is now listed in critical but stable condition — an act her family is calling a "miracle."

Delgado-Polanco, 21, was reportedly beaten on October 19 and later found unconscious inside her home following what police say was a domestic dispute, according to the Associated Press.

Surgery was performed on Delgado-Polanco, though she succumbed to her injuries last Wednesday, with doctors delivering her baby girl beforehand.

Delgado-Polanco was six months pregnant at the time of the attack, with authorities arresting Fernando Flores, 24, and charging him with assault last month; those charges have now been upgraded to manslaughter.

The victim's family has taken to crowdfunding website GoFundMe in an attempt to raise $20,000 to bring her back to her native Mexico for burial and to help offset the baby's healthcare expenses.

"Paola Eden Delagado Polanco was a young thriving girl and full of life, with charming simplicity and humility," reads a description on the funding page. "She died October 29 at her 21 years as a victim of domestic violence caused by her boyfriend in Bear, Delaware. Paola was six months pregnant, and by a miracle the baby survived."

The family went on to praise Delgado-Polanco's "inner beauty" and urged the public to help support her funeral expenses so that she can be returned to Puente de Camotlan Nayarit in Mexico.

"God has plans for all of us and Paola is now in the kingdom of heaven with our Heavenly Father," the description continued.
