The one thing Glenn Beck wants Americans to remember when his work is finished

After a week of deeply personal shows, Glenn Beck invited an audience to his studios in Dallas for a live question and answer segment about his journey and the future of his company.

One audience member noted that Beck is doing all he can to teach the youth about history, asking: "When all is over -- so let's say it's 60 years from now -- what's the one thing you want myself, my boy, my wife to learn?"

Beck laughed, saying he would be 110 by the man's 60-year estimate, before growing more serious.

"That God lives, and that he is good and gracious and -- surrender to him," Beck said. "Just surrender to him. And everything, you will go through anything with him by your side. Anything. And that's the one story we're not teaching. We're not teaching that at all."

Beck on Monday announced that he has been struggling with severe health issues for almost five years, but after receiving treatment at the Carrick Brain Centers, recently received a clean bill of health. His struggles have only made him more determined to accomplish what he believes he is meant to do: impact the culture, telling stories of "love and courage where the good guys win."

Beck said that in addition to beginning work on a show called "History House," a movie about the background of Santa Claus, and a Spanish-language film called "The Revolutionary," he also plans to completely revamp his 5 p.m. show.

"For months, we've been working behind the scenes to revamp this program," Beck said. "I told you that five years ago, I started to hear 'you're standing in the wrong place.' That didn't just mean, 'you have to leave Fox.' That meant, 'you're doing the wrong thing.'"

Beck said he will continue to cover the news, and all that they are planning will be in addition to what they already do. He hopes to unveil the new show in September of 2015.

"The changes that we're making are not simple, formulaic changes," he said with a smile. "It is a feeling, and you will know it when you see it."
