Nobody Is Born Gay' Billboard Model Just Dropped a Major Bombshell

"I was obviously quite shocked..."

The model featured in a controversial billboard on display in Richmond, Virginia, is fervently speaking out against its message, adding a major twist into an already contentious debate, according to WWBT-TV.

Kyle Roux, a South African model who is openly gay, said that he opposes the billboard, which reads, "Identical twins. One gay. One not. We believe twins research studies show nobody is born gay."

But he also revealed another important detail: he's not actually a twin, as the pictures on the billboard make it seem.

In fact, the featured images were reportedly captured about a decade ago and subsequently became stock photos, according to WWBT-TV.

Roux was so stunned when he heard from friends and family that his face was gracing the billboard that he decided to contact local media in Richmond to reveal the aforementioned details.

"I was obviously quite shocked, so that's why I decided to send you guys an email saying hey, I'm that guy in that billboard," he said. "It just seems like there no place in today's world for an organization that is promoting this as being some kind of deviant or distasteful lifestyle, because I've lived my life openly gay and happy for my entire life."

As TheBlaze previously reported, the billboard was paid for by Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays and Gays — an organization aimed at helping so-called “ex-gays” gain acceptance.

While the message offends Roux and many gay and lesbian rights advocates, Regina Griggs, executive director of Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays and Gays, said earlier this week that critics aren’t looking at the facts, specifically when it comes to analyzing how same-sex attraction pertains to twins.

“Identical twins have the same genes or DNA. They are nurtured in equal prenatal conditions.  If homosexuality is caused by genetics or prenatal conditions and one twin is gay, the co-twin should also be gay,” she said, according to WVUE-TV. “Because identical twins are always genetically identical, homosexuality cannot be genetically dictated. No one is born gay.”
