Video of Mike Rowe in a Bathrobe, With His Dog, Singing a Christmas Classic Goes Viral in 24 Hours

"I couldn’t get him to howl, but the tongue-bath has to count for something, right?"

Just over a year ago, TV personality Mike Rowe — a frequent guest of Glenn Beck on radio and TV —  recorded a unique holiday message for his home phone's answering machine.

While sipping a beer, the classically-trained opera singer belted out "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" from the Dr. Seuss classic, "How the Grinch Stole Christmas." He posted the video on YouTube, and it was seen just over 70,000 times in the last 12 months.

On Friday, he responded to a request from a Facebook fan who pledged to send a $500 donation to his charitable foundation, Mike Rowe Works for a repeat performance — with a couple of stipulations.

Samantha Romano wanted Rowe to sing the song while wearing his bathrobe...and she said she would double the $500 pledge if Mike's dog, Freddy, would howl along in harmony.

Not long after receiving the request, Rowe posted a new version of the Christmas classic.

The song appears to be a hit, generating more than 1.7 million hits in just over 24 hours.
