Ted Cruz Did, in Fact, Give a SOTU Response — but It Didn't Quite Go as Planned

"Let me start over."

While Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) gave the official Republican response to the State of the Union address on Tuesday, Tea Party favorite Ted Cruz did manage to give one of his own. It just didn't go quite as planned.

The response, seemingly recorded with a phone, was uploaded to YouTube on Tuesday night but then quickly deleted before a different version was uploaded. The reason? It included Cruz stopping mid-video to start over.

"Eh, let me start over," he says with a hand gesture after making a point about 50 seconds in.

Now while many will have a chuckle over the video, you could say it has the potential to endear Cruz -- a potential 2016 presidential candidate -- to the American people. After all, who hasn't done something similar?
