Users Say Something ‘Highly Problematic’ Happens After the Term ‘Muslim’ Is Googled
February 10, 2015
"Islam hijacked by ISIS even on Google?"
Individuals turned to Twitter Tuesday night to voice concern about the image displayed for users who Google search "Muslim" on the website.
A photograph of a radial U.K. preacher Anjem Choudary, who has taken a number of controversial positions including advocating the use of welfare money to advance jihad, was found accompanying a short blurb from Wikipedia defining "Muslim." The photo linked to a story about him.
Choudary has taken a number of incendiary positions in the past, often appearing on Fox News' "Hannity" to ignite controversy.
"Islam hijacked by ISIS even on Google?" wondered Wall Street Journal columnist Yaroslav Trofimov. "If you google Muslim, it shows you an ISIS ideologue, Anjem Choudhary."

"[T]his is highly problematic," another individual tweeted.

"Yes, this guy advocating for using UK welfare for jihad is representing all Muslims on @google," echoed yet another person.

It appeared, however, that no images were displayed in the same prominent manner during search results for other major religious groups.
A representative from Google was not immediately available for comment to TheBlaze.
