Woman Searching for Pet Underneath Her Bed When She Felt Something That Definitely Wasn't a Cat

File this under the "boogey man."

Imagine looking for your house pet, reaching your hand underneath your bed and then grabbing a handful of ... skin.

That's what happened to a 61-year-old Palm Springs, Florida, woman this week. Police say she was in the process of finding her cats when she made a shocking discovery: a man underneath her bed.

Here's how the Sun-Sentinel describes what's in the police report:

As the woman reached under her bed, she "felt she had touched human skin," an officer wrote in the report. "The suspect was hiding under her bed."

That caused the man, later identified as Christian Vatovec, 25, of Lake Worth, to sprint from the home and jump a fence before running west toward Henthorne Drive, police said.

According to the woman, the man got away with a gold ankle bracelet and digital camera. After police captured Vatovec nearby, they brought him back to the woman who identified him as the man.

He now faces charges of burglary, grand theft and resisting arrest.
