“They are clearly arresting someone here..."
A television reporter in Australia had her live-shot interrupted Friday morning as a man was dramatically arrested directly behind her.
Channel Nine “Today” reporter Aislin Kriukelis was reporting on the suspension of two officers in Queensland when the focus of her segment suddenly became about the arrest taking place in the background.
Officers appeared to be walking the man down the street when he appeared to spot the live-shot taking place and attempted to shout into the camera. Police immediately moved to restrain the individual who fought back, resulting in a brief struggle.
“Dramatic scenes right behind you … The police clearly engaged in activity there,” Kriukelis’ colleague said during the arrest.
“They are clearly arresting someone here Sylvia, so we will find out what’s happening,” Kriukelis responded.
According to The Sydney Morning Herald, the man was charged with public nuisance and obstructing police.
