We're Not All Falling for Your BS': Blaze Readers React to Al Sharpton's Shocking Question About Flooding in Texas

"Every time I think my opinion of Al Sharpton could not get lower, he opens his mouth again."

TheBlaze posted a story earlier this week about a controversial tweet by the Rev. Al Sharpton in response to the Texas floods.

Sharpton wrote: "#KeepingItReal QOTD: Do you think the #TexasFlooding is related to climate control or God's rebuke? Call 8775325797 or tweet me your thoughts."

The tweet received a lot of backlash on Twitter.

Here's what some readers of TheBlaze readers had to say:

The-Monk

Sharpton has no idea what or who God is…but he will one day.

Sharpton, have you ever read the Bible? There is not a Christian on Earth who has read the Bible and would still have the gall to say that God messed up creating the Earth and that you were there to fix it.

My guess is that you are trying to profit on your false claims. Stick with race baiting, Sharpton. You’re crossing over to a much smarter crowd, and we're not all falling for your BS.

I thought the good Reverend was going to suggest that Texans were robbing California of water.

Actually, it may be a rebuke, in a sense. Even though God delivered Texas from a severe drought, I wonder how many Christians in Texas bothered to thank him for that? Perhaps the flooding in Texas is just an opportunity for Christians to get down on our knees and thank God for listening to our prayers.

“I think the mere suggestion that innocent people are killed due to God’s 'rebuke' is repulsive.” — Glenn Greenwald

The bigger issue is that there are NO innocent people — not until they accept Christ as their Savior. Then they're given Christ's righteousness and their sin account is wiped clean.

“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

“For there is none righteous, no, not one.”

Of course, Al has no clue what true righteousness is, and I doubt — based on his lifestyle and actions — that he personally knows God.

Maybe Al Simpleton should read about Noah and the great flood. God didn’t flood the earth because he happened to purchase a piece of property in the desert and wanted to make it beachfront property; he created the flood to rid the earth of Satan’s little helpers. There are many examples in the Bible of God telling his people to wipe out certain groups, like the Philistines, and He even told them to kill every man, woman and child. In some cases, he even told them to kill their livestock and take nothing as the spoils of war.

If Sharpton thinks God isn’t capable of rebuke and vengeance, he’s in for a big surprise. I wouldn’t want to be him or Jesse Jackson on Judgment Day if they don’t get their acts together. I firmly believe God will judge pastors first — and more severely if they've led people astray.

The not-very-reverend and the not-so -harp Sharpton strikes again. Just goes to show you that anybody — and I mean anybody — can be “successful” in our great country.

#1. I live 25 miles from Wimberly; those people are my neighbors.

#2. Every time I think my opinion of Al Sharpton could not get lower, he opens his mouth again.

My car has climate control.

Oh, then that must have been what happened to New Orleans. It was God’s rebuke…

Except if we said that, you would be on the streets with your bullhorn screaming "racist" along with some creative epithets.

"God or climate change"? How about…natural disaster. They happen all the time.

marahnatha

It’s God’s rebuke for America putting up with “Reverends” like Sharpton who mislead their followers for their own material gain.

Why is anyone listening or responding to Sharpton? Just stop it.
