July 01, 2015
An Arkansas teenager woke up this week with pain in his ear. When he felt something in there, he pulled.
Now, get ready to gag.
What 14-year-old Grant Botti yanked out of his year on Tuesday was a 4-inch long centipede — still alive.

According to KATV-TV, his ear was still hurting, so Botti's mother took him to the Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton, Arkansas, where doctors found the arthropod had damaged his ear drum. The injury is being treated and he is expected to recover, at least physically, the news station reported.

As for where the centipede came from, KATV reported that the family is unsure exactly but noted that the teen had been outside swimming recently.
