See the New Rambling Video Apology Singer Ariana Grande Released After ‘Hate America’ Donut Incident

"I feel like the apology I posted, I kind of missed my opportunity to actually sincerely apologize..."

In a new video apology posted Thursday night, pop star Ariana Grande explained that she's "actually never been prouder to be an American" and said she was ready to "take responsibility" for her actions inside a California donut shop.

The two-time Grammy-nominated singer explained that she wanted to issue a second apology because she felt the statement she released Wednesday missed the mark.

"I just want to make a video to apologize again for the whole donut fiasco and craziness because I feel like the apology I posted, I kind of missed my opportunity to actually sincerely apologize and express how I was feeling because I was too busy preaching about my issues with the food industry, which is, like, not I feel like relative," she said. "I feel like I could have expressed myself in a different way."

"So, here I am apologizing and, you know, I was trying to get you to understand where I was coming from when I said what I said," Grande continued. "But that's not important, I rather just apologize."

Grande, who was captured on camera over the Fourth of July weekend saying she has "hate" for the U.S., then explained why she's actually "never been prouder" to be an American.

"I've actually never been prouder to be an American, to be honest with you," she said. "Advances that we've made in the past couple months and all the wonderful progressive things that have been going on, I've never been prouder of this country actually."

Grande said that “seeing a video of yourself behaving poorly that you had no idea was taken is such a rude awakening."

"I was so disgusted with myself. I wanted — I like shoved my face in a pillow and wanted to disappear, but instead of that I’m going to come forward and own up to what I did and take responsibility and say I’m sorry," she said. "I reacted in a way that wasn’t necessary to say the least and also wasn’t me at all. I apologize for my poor choice of words and for my behavior. Umm, seeing how ugly it looks when you behave a certain way makes you want to never behave that way again.”

The pop star said she wants to be a "positive influence" for her fans. She said she is 22 and people make mistakes, adding that she would learn from this incident.
