CNN Reporter Sounds Off on Obama for 'Slamming Reporters': It Revealed 'Weakness' of Iran Deal

“And I don’t think slamming reporters will solve any problems for the president."

CNN White House correspondent Jim Acosta skewered President Barack Obama Wednesday for scolding CBS reporter Major Garrett during an afternoon press conference.

“Well, [Obama] can get testy at times, and clearly this question got under his skin,” Acosta said. “And I don’t think slamming reporters will solve any problems for the president."

"It clearly shows that there is a weakness in this deal, in the fact he was not able to secure the release of those Americans who are being detained in Iran," Acosta continued.

The CNN reporter said that he believes this issue will "continue to be a pressure point for this president" and his critics.

Acosta noted that he thought Obama was "really relishing this opportunity to fire back at his critics."

“I don’t think it was an unfair question from Major, by the way,” he finished. “I think it was on a very important topic, and the president chose to use that opportunity to slam Major. But really, it’s not going to put that issue to rest."
