Is the United States Facing an 'Existential Threat' On Its Southern Border?

"This is unbelievable work, and the results are startling."

TheBlaze TV is airing a special Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. ET highlighting potential collusion between Mexican drug cartels and the Islamic State, something Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton described as an "existential threat."

"A lead character in the documentary tonight is Chris Farrell, who's our lead investigator," Fitton explained on The Glenn Beck Program. "He's a former counterintelligence officer with the U.S. Army. ... Chris and our other colleagues on our investigative and journalist staff have uncovered shocking information at the border."

Fitton said they uncovered evidence that Al Qaeda's chief of operations has flown into the United States from Mexico, and he was part of a plot to bomb the Sears Tower as well as Oprah Winfrey's Chicago studios.

Though the FBI was able to stop the bomb plot, Fitton said law enforcement didn't "roll these guys up," and one of the conspirators was seen in Chicago waving an ISIS flag "not too long ago."

"He was arrested and then, unbelievably, released," Fitton claimed. "This is unbelievable work, and the results are startling. And I think they ought to call attention to the fact that the security issues on the border are an existential threat to the United States and our safety."

Fitton said that though the FBI acknowledges "thousands of investigations into ISIS activities here in the United States," lawmakers in Washington get "apoplectic" if you mention ISIS in Mexico, almost all of them claiming, "It's not true!"

"So we have ISIS all over the United States, but not in Mexico?" he asked.
