When a Family Decided to Pray Before a Meal While Eating Out, They Had No Idea This Would Happen

"Continue to raise your sons in Christ."

When a family recently decided to pray before eating at an Oklahoma restaurant, something unexpected happened: an anonymous customer was so moved by the invocation that she decided to secretly pay for their meals.

And the kind gesture, which unfolded at Jimmy's Egg in Yukon, a popular breakfast spot, has been getting quite a bit of attention.

When it came time for the family to pay for their meal, they were surprised to receive an encouraging note from the generous customer rather than a bill, according to KFOR-TV.

It read, "Because you prayed, we paid. Continue to raise your sons in Christ. God Bless."

It was a move that left the unnamed mother who received the kind gesture "about in tears," according to Jimmy's Egg assistant manager Sherry Thompson, who said that she was clearly touched after receiving the note.

The unnamed woman posted the note on Facebook and it subsequently went viral.

"We see a lot of people paying it forward, buying for other people. Especially coming holiday time, we see a lot of that, we do," Thompson told KFOR-TV. "Because we have really good customers."

She added, "The majority of people are nice, but there's always some people who are not. And so it always makes it, you feel better as a server to know that there are nice, kind people out there."

The kind gesture has made an impact, as it continues to spread across the Internet.
