Seven World Records Set by Harlem Globetrotters in One Video

The Harlem Globetrotters have been amazing audiences with their basketball trick shots and theatrical on-court skills since 1926, so it would come as no surprise that the stunt basketball team has several world records under their belt.

But this week at Guinness World Records Day at Talking Stick Resort Arena in Arizona, the Harlem Globetrotters added seven more world records to the five they'd already achieved.

Watch the seven new records compiled into this five-minute video:

The records included:

  • Farthest kneeling basketball shot made backwards set at 18.47 meters (60 feet 7.5 inches) by Handles Franklin.
  • Longest basketball shot made blindfolded achieved by Thunder Law at a distance of 21.18 meters (69 feet 6 inches).
  • Longest underhand basketball shot by Hammer Harrison at 25.81 meters (84 feet 8.5 inches).
  • Longest duration spinning a basketball on the nose at 7.7 seconds by Scooter Christensen, beating his own previous record.
  • Most basketball slam dunks in one minute set by Zeus McClurkin with 15 dunks.
  • Furthest blindfolded basketball hook shot at 15.32 meters (50 feet 3.5 inches) by Big Easy Lofton.
  • Most three-pointers scored in one minute by a pair achieved by Ant Atkinson and Cheese Chisholm for a record of 19.
