Fox Business Network anchor Lisa “Kennedy” Montgomery got into a tense exchange with Montel Williams on the air Thursday after he suggested registering gun owners in the aftermath of the San Bernardino massacre.
“Why don’t we use this as an opportunity to register gun owners? Because American citizens who could be radicalized…are sitting there as your neighbor,” Williams said. “So why can’t I have a registry of who has them?”
Williams said he owns 14 guns and has no problem registering them with the government.
Referring to the San Bernardino shooters, who were also in possession of several pipe bombs, Kennedy sarcastically asked if the government should also set up a “bomb registry.” She also argued it is extremely difficult already to obtain a firearm in Southern California.
“This is not about guns,” she added.
