Parents Listen to Baby Monitor as Daughter Talks in Her Crib — They’re So ‘Shocked’ by What They Hear, They Have to Get It on Video
January 26, 2016
"We were shocked..."
When one South Carolina couple heard talking coming from their 2-year-old daughter's crib over the baby monitor and realized with astonishment that she was praying, they quickly captured a video of the toddler and posted it on Facebook on Sunday.
In video footage that lasts just under two minutes, the Whitt family from Seneca, South Carolina, filmed their daughter, Sutton, over the baby monitor as she lay in her crib and began to pray for a long list of people, according to Fox Carolina.
"We put Sutton to bed about an hour ago and then heard noise coming from her room," Sutton's mom, Kathryn, wrote in her Facebook post. "We turned on her baby monitor and found her praying! Wish we could have gotten the whole thing recorded. You've got to watch this! So sweet!!!"
Sutton's prayer request list included "Daddy" and "Mommy" and "Santa Claus," returning multiple times to intercede for "Daddy" and "Mommy" and thank God for them, before she concluded her prayer with an emphatic "Amen!"
"We were shocked at how long her prayer was when we captured this because she rushes through her prayers with us every night," Kathryn said, adding that the prayer was not rehearsed, according to Fox Carolina.
