Donald Trump Unloads Serious Allegation Against Ted Cruz in Twitter Tirade, Calls for 'New Election' In Iowa

"Ted Cruz didn't win Iowa."

Donald Trump is calling for a "new election" or for Ted Cruz's win in Iowa to be nullified, claiming the Texas senator "stole" votes in the Hawkeye State.

Trump, who came in second to Cruz in Iowa on Monday night, launched into a Twitter tirade on Wednesday morning, less than one week before voters in New Hampshire head to the polls. He first accused Cruz of "illegally" stealing the Iowa caucuses, but then deleted and reposted the message minus one word.

"Ted Cruz didn't win Iowa, he stole it. That is why all of the polls were so wrong and why he got far more votes than anticipated," Trump tweeted.

Trump pointed to claims by the Ben Carson campaign that the Cruz campaign told voters the famed neurosurgeon was planning to drop out of the race, in hopes they could convert Carson's supporters. The Cruz campaign has since apologized.

Trump also mentioned the Cruz campaign's "voter violation" mailer controversy, accusing the Texas senator of "fraud."

"Based on the fraud committed by Senator Ted Cruz during the Iowa Caucus, either a new election should take place or Cruz results nullified," Trump tweeted.
