Woman Allegedly Stole a Cab at Knifepoint and Hit the Road — but This One Crucial Error Brought It All to a Screeching Halt
March 11, 2016
Here's what went wrong.
A Colorado woman who was arrested for stealing a taxi at knife-point early Friday morning made a critical error when perpetrating the alleged crime: She told the cab driver her destination.
According to KMGH-TV, the driver told police that the woman asked to be taken to a 7-Eleven store before taking out a knife and ordering him to leave the car.
Police told KMGH that they tracked the cab, which the woman had abandoned near the 7-Eleven. They went to the store and found her there.
Though the woman tried to resist arrest, police took her into custody 20 minutes after the cab driver called 911.
