Watch the Original Diet Coke and Mentos Guy Shoot an 18-Foot Geyser High Above NYC Toy Fair

Television personality, author and science teacher Steven Spangler exploded a Mentos and Diet Coke geyser 18-feet high at an annual Toy Fair recently in New York City.

Spangler, now the Chief Toy Designer for Be Amazing Toys, was one of the first to notice the explosive reaction that occurs when the sugary candy and low calorie beverage are combined.

Spangler released the original video in September 2005 which quickly went viral becoming an early Internet meme which has been much duplicated since.

The Toy Fair runs annually in New York City allowing toy manufacturers to meet with retailers and exhibit new toys as well as the classics.
