Everything Just Went Crazy': Shock Video Shows Stunt Performer Catch Fire During High School Rally

"Stay calm, stay calm."

Shock video captured a stunt performer catch fire while performing at a Florida high school Thursday, leaving at least 20 injured.

The chaotic scene unfolded at Atlantic Community High School during a pep rally aimed at exciting students for the state's upcoming Standards Assessment Tests, WPTV reported.

"Stay calm, stay calm," a school official can be heard moments after the man caught fire.

The Delray Beach Fire Department said at least 20 were treated for injuries, mostly students with respiratory issues after the fire was extinguished.

The fire-breathing performer, Ricky "Inferno" Charles, told WPTV that he tried a new type of lamp oil.

"So when I did my blast with this new oil, the flame trickled right back down to my face. It caught my face on fire, which is a new thing to me. And that's when everything just went crazy," Charles said.

Charles suffered first-degree burns to his face and was expected to be released from the hospital Friday.
