Teacher Resigns After Being Caught on Video Blindsiding 4-Year-Old Special Needs Student
March 25, 2016
A Georgia teacher resigned this week after surveillance footage captured her knocking down a 4-year-old special needs student earlier this month.
The teacher, identified as 20-year veteran Amelia Stripling, blindsided the boy at Tift County Pre-K Center on March 17, according to WALB-TV.
The child's mother, Sarah Patterson, told the local news station that Stripling thrust her knee into her son's back causing him to fall on his face.
While the child wasn't seriously hurt, the incident was reported to the Division of Family and Children Services, WALB reported. Patterson also said she had contacted a lawyer.
