Why Limbaugh Says He’s ‘Angered Beyond My Ability to Tell You’ by Democrats’ Benghazi Report, Media’s Reaction

"I don't know what good expressing countless outrage does about it."

Conservative talker Rush Limbaugh wasn't very happy when he discovered the Democrats' Benghazi report mentions Donald Trump, who "wasn't even on the public scene when Benghazi happened," 23 times.

"He might have been on TV commenting about it as an infrequent guest," Limbaugh said on his radio program Tuesday, "but what did Trump have to do with Benghazi? Nothing. But that's not the point."

According to Limbaugh, Trump was invoked by the Democrats, who titled their report, "Honoring Courage, Improving Security, and Fighting Political Exploitation of a Tragedy," in order to "provide the media a guidance."

Limbaugh said that, through their report, the Democrats are telling the press, "OK, media! Here's what we want you to do. This is how we want you to cast and to characterize the Benghazi report."

In fact, Trump is mentioned in the report more than Navy SEALs Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty, who were both killed in the deadly 2012 attack, combined. Ambassador Chris Stevens and State Department information specialist Sean Smith, both of whom were also killed, are mentioned 85 and 36 times, respectively.

"[Woods and Doherty's] names, when you add the number of mentions, do not come anywhere near to equaling the number of times the Democrats mention Trump in their report on Benghazi," Limbaugh said.

The presence of the presumptive GOP nominee in the report is somewhat ironic, given the Democrats have long accused the Republican Party of politicizing the the attack at Benghazi by using the investigation to target Hillary Clinton.

"I'm infuriated by all this, and I always have been, I'm outraged," Limbaugh charged. "But I don't know what good expressing countless outrage does about it."

"I'm angered beyond my ability to tell you how much," he continued. "I'm as frustrated as you are about this. I'm asking myself over and over, 'How do they keep getting away with it?' Because they are exposed. The Democrats have been exposed over and over and over again."

He added that the only thing Democrats did with their report was "waste time and attack their political opponents."

This comes the same day the Republicans release their report, which Limbaugh said offers "no new evidence" against the former secretary of state.

"The pathway is cleared for the media to say, 'No new evidence here against Mrs. Clinton. No wrongdoing whatsoever,'" Limbaugh said, while the Democrats' report shows Clinton was "active and engaged" during and after the attacks.
