A Syrian child has turned up safe after her Twitter account ominously vanished over the weekend, prompting her many followers to panic, according to the BBC.
Bana Alabed, 7, with the help of her mother, Fatemah, runs a Twitter account that has gained worldwide attention that documents life in war-torn Aleppo. Bana’s followers were concerned about her safety after the account fell silent and then vanished after a series of harrowing messages. The account has since been reactivated.
Fatemah broke the account’s silence Monday in another concerning message.
An unnamed source told the BBC that Bana and her family are safe and in an undisclosed location.
