Dem governor had pet chicken that died right before the election. See what its name was.

Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, a longtime close friend of Bill and Hillary Clinton, recently revealed that one of his family's pet chickens died just prior to the 2016 presidential election.

Its name? Hillary.

McAuliffe revealed the little tidbit of information during an event with The Atlantic on Thursday when he was asked about his family's four chickens.

"I hate to say this, one chicken died,” he said. “About a month before the election — Hillary died."

The governor added that his family has already replaced "Hillary."

"We've got Hillary, Jr. now," he said. "She is bright and fluffy and making a lot of noise and healthy as an ox."

According to the Richmond-Times Dispatch, McAuliffe and his wife, Dorthy, promised their children last year that if they were able to move into the Va. governor's mansion, then they would get some pet chickens.

The other chickens' names are: Dolly, Snape and Camo.

The irony is so rich.
